All finished! Here is what it looks like all put together. It sounds great but can't wait to try it with a proper crossover and limiter. Also would like to hear how it sounds with a 30 or 40Hz high pass on the bottom.



I really like the Duratex finish and small corners from Leland. Really looks and feels nice.

So what's next? I picked up a "scratch and dent" LAB 12 at PE this week. Couldn't pass it up, but what in the world am I going to do with that? T30, T39 what else could I do? Also really like the idea of building a pair of SLA pros or minis. Maybe using the less expensive Dayton PA6 drivers that others seem to like.

It is a big cab and has nice big sound. No it won't really fit into a car, but my son has been assuring me that it would fit nicely in the Jeep that he is driving now that he has his license. After all, how can anyone listen to Deadmau5 and Skrilliex without an Autotube on board

I really didn't appreciate the efficiency until I put my test plate-amp back into the the 10" sub from which it was borrowed. Wow what a difference! And the cabinets are not all that much different in size. I should be receiving my replacement crossover/limiter this week so I am looking forward to see what it can do with full clean power.

A slim TAT is just large enough to fit sideways in a trunk of my subaru sedan...14" panel width is about the max I could go to get a TAT in a trunk sideways. How wide is yours?

Sorry to hear you had trouble with hurricane nuts... My bet would be you drilled the pilot holes for them a tad too loose. On the other hand, I've only used them with baltic birch, so I can't comment with arauco, which I guess is a bit softer wood. Personnally I used 1/4 hurricane nuts with hex bolts in all my cabs. I've tightened them all with a trusty ratchet driver, probably uselessly tight and never had one spin. Never added epoxy or whatsoever...

Not sure which size bit I used, but I wasted a few hurricane nuts beforehand, doing tests with different size bits in 1/64 increments. I wanted to have the tightest fit possible, while being reassured I wouldn't split the plywood.
