It won't sound good, and if you're pushing them past xmax and/or Pe damage will eventually be the result. But a clipped signal in and of itself is no more injurious to a sub than is water to a duck's back.unsafe8989 wrote:So if I clip my subwoofers constantly even non stop at times its fine?

The IPR 3000 is 440 watts @ 8 ohms? how is that too much power?Gregory East wrote:Clipping in the amp you mean? That'll be way too much power for the lowriders. Even if it isn't it would sound lousy.

Figure on a clipping amp delivering double the rated power for a brief period. See how that sounds if you dare. I wouldn't.
and last time you were talking about them being bridged. Pick up pieces of lowrider after that!

It sounded fine without bridgeing But who knows maybe these digital amps can give a bad burst?Gregory East wrote:Figure on a clipping amp delivering double the rated power for a brief period. See how that sounds if you dare. I wouldn't.

I'd guess the new DDT system is just as good as the old one then.

Reading on the peavey forums apparently when driving into DDT isnt really clipping, yet it allows you to know that your near limit per say like a soft limiter am I correct. Just a bit of research I did during school.Gregory East wrote:I'd guess the new DDT system is just as good as the old one then.
