That's 17.

Adds up quick and that doesn't count the iPod for break music. I can get by with one OH if it's tight. First three tom mics are split between 2 toms each, floor gets it's own (yeah, that's 7 - but it's part of the whole look and sound).

Their guitar player used to set up sound for 'em and didn't mic ride or hat - sounds much better with it....it's loud rock and both are essential.

In a small setting I could lose the OH and rely on 'em leaking through the vocal mics - but I always want the hat mic'd.

I know this is kinda' long, but might help some who are getting into live sound to understand what it takes to do it right.

The Djm 800 is a very nice mixer and rider friendly for most electronic dj's (rane ttm-57sl being the most common exception). The DJM uses 1/4" TRS output's as well as XLR so you might want to make a few 1/4" TRS to XLR input and output adapters so that you are always compatable with whatever hookups you come across. Even a few 1/4 mono to RCA cables can come in handy. Very nice setup indeed. Most often red means bad, but in the case of the pioneer the first yellow is the limit. View Topic
Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be doing that. I'm pretty big on adapters, anyway, so thanks for reminding.

And while I realized there was a difference between dj mixing and band mixing, I didn't realize how BIG the difference is, both in equipment needed and the tasks at hand.
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!
