Mixer, straight to amps. As barebone as it gets.

You'd think, wouldn't you? Most digital mixers don't have crossovers. Some don't have brickwall limiters on outputs. Maybe the really high end stuff has some of the needed features (iLive, Venue, etc). Most all of them have decent output EQ. SAC is different in that you can use VST plugs, and there's a particularly good Linkwitz Reilly plug written specifically for SAC.

I use the StudioLive straight to XTi amps. The XTis are there with presets to handle crossover/limiting and EQ the speakers flat. Then I'll use the EQ on the StudioLive to tweak the EQ for the room. It works very well and I rarely have to mess with my XTi presets.
