I'm not sure it will fill a gym, maybe a small one, it's meant for small closed movie sets, but they do make real haze in an aerosol can in your price range. 8oz can is $12.75

What exactly are you breathing in with these things? Microscopic bits of oil in your lungs doesn't seem healthy to me.

They make me wheeze very quickly. When the fog machines start, I head for the corner.

+1 That concerned me when I checked into this and also possibility of residue on everything. Be sure to look at Material Safety Data Sheets.

Modern foggers/hazers now use water based juice, not oil based.

ADJ claims their mixes are pharmaceutical grade. Can't vouch for the off-brands, but I would expect the same of Chauvet, etc. I don't know if that's any consolation for someone with asthma for example, but at least it's non-toxic. If the bars / clubs in the area still allow smoking indoors, the fog is the least of your concerns though.

California osha results conclude that exposure to oil based haze is safe for durations of 40 hours/week for 50 years under normal stage concentrations.

Oil based haze does not make people weeze like glycol/water based foggers do and is virtually undetectable in air without a light source. Glycol/glycerine foggers/hazers are bad for respitory tract and eye irritation. Residue ... well thats what glass cleaner and a rag are for ... dust bunnies everywhere :hyper: (its the least of your clean-up worries after a party, takes weeks/months to build up)

at least here you can't smoke indoors anywhere but your own home.

After seeing a vid online, im gonna build my own hazer, the only problem I have is the size of air compressor, do I go by horsepower or psi? Lookin at like little football pumps for like 100$, about 1/4 hp, get around 100 psi.

idk if I need to start an account on a lighting forum, or what. But any help is appreciated

With that said, +1 on the hazer over a fogger.
They have barred the use of foggers or hazers?

Here in south eastern Michigan, the vast majority of banquet halls have, yes. I never gigged in bars/pubs, so I have no idea about them. Even my local B.P.O. Elks club, who were wickedly opposed to a complete smoking ban in their building, as it has 3 separate rooms, 2 of which are non-smoking, barred the use of fogger/hazers.

Do hazers get hot at all? I'm interested in using one for a light show in a barn, but I want to be super careful about anything that heats up. Thanks!

Generally no, but my lemaitre xs does, but it doesn't need rehat cycles. I think the heating of it just super charges the process

how many of them would you need to burn out before it's more economical to buy a purpose-built hazer?
