Helpful hints on how to build 'em, and where to get the stuff you need.

I was just trying to figure out how many wires I am going to need to run from the jack panel in the back to the driver cavity. Also decided to color code the wires to help keep from getting confused.

I will have a busy jack panel. I have three combo 1/4"+2-conductor speakon jacks and SPST switch to have both 8 and 4 ohm top capability.

Assuming the x-over goes in the driver chamber, I thnk that means I will need to run 5 wires between the chamber and the back panel:

- one black lead from the jacks' common ground to the driver's ground;
- one red lead from the x-over in to the inductor, the 10uF poly cap, and one of the 125 uF electrolytics;
- one green lead from the caps to the top-out jack;
- two white leads from the 125uF electrolytics.

I mapped it out like this:

Does this look about right?

If the switch is on the jack panel it looks to me like 6 wires to the chamber.

Yup! I left out the "yellow" lead to from the direct in to the driver. Thanks!

I was not aware of your thread either...not sure how I missed it...but that's why I like crosslisting. Others who look at this topic may want to look at yours as well...so...

Having seen yours, I'm going to combine the two designs. I'll use the 2 125uf's and a single 10uf poly like you did with an spst switch for 4/8 ohm selection and keep the spdt switch for filter by-pass.
