Auraco is lighter but you give up a lot of durability too, even if it didn't warp like crazy. Colorado is pretty dry as humidity goes and it's still a problem. 43% is average to high here. Currently 50% after a week of rain.
Anyway, with a heavy coat of duratex, rocks and other things easily leave gouges that dig through the top layer. I'll second the degrading quality in voids. My first series of cabs were all relatively void free though still not perfect. My jacks had quite a few voids to fill in edges.
