mine calk gun has a release lever to take the pressure off the tube....
Release lever? Is that what that little tab I have to hit with the hammer does? Too bad it keeps running out. Of course the price difference make's it worthwhile.
yeah even if you release the lever it still comes out slowly...
the Big tubes are 28oz whereas the small ones are 10oz
for me they were like $4.50 for the small ones or $5.90 for the big one so I could get the big one and a big gun for cheaper than three small ones...
thats almost like how a 2x2 path panel of drywall costs more than a full 4x8 sheet haha
There's really no need to waste the adhesive drippings.
Get two ziplock bags (quart size freezer bags are stronger than sandwhich bags) and let the tip drip into one bag when you set the tube down. You can snip a lower corner off the bag and use it as a makeshift grout bag to apply the adhesive where you want it. Drip into one bag while you're using the other. Or, scrape up the drippings with a putty knife and scoop the goo into your makeshift grout bag. The bags are a little less cumbersome to use than the large caulk gun, also.

Nice idea. I used some scrap to make a L shaped piece with a nail glued to it. It's easier than just a nail since
I don't have to grab the nail and any drip hits the board. I have been using some of the excess but not all of it. Might try the ziplock idea.
