Recently just tooling around on my own I have come to a much better tone that I know will cut through and sound to my liking, one of the best things I like so far about this cab is the response it has to slight EQ changes (I have changed my tone a lot from with a lot of small changes and am very near the tone I've always desired!!)
That's awesome to hear man. I'm sort of expecting the same when I fire my OT12's up for the first time. I don't have a dedicated graph in my chain at the moment, but will be putting one in there. Congrats on the build. Those look like awesome boxes. I'd love to have some full ranges boxes too for the really small jobs I do, so I hope to do the Omni 12's since I've got the plans for them. I'll likely use them as monitors for larger events.

Don't feel bad, Don. First of all, they know they'd sound like a garage band without the fill-in we provide. Second... they have to think really hard to come up with anything about us... cause we're just that good.
Ever wondered why so many piano players also play guitar, bass, and drums, but very few of them ever learn to play OUR instrument?

Don't get me started with keyboard players! Why are all the different sounds such different levels? And why donthe turn up by 20dB for a solo and clip the DI box? Grrr.

Mine aren't, and I don't. That's the difference between a keyboard player and a true pianist (i.e. a musician).
Last I checked though, if you're using DI boxes and gain structure that clips with just a small little 20db boost... the keyboard isn't the problem.

Donny Don't worry I'll think of some
If I could find a good key player around here I would hire them. Most of them are so stuck on them selves and are drama queens.

I started on Piano....then moved to guitar...then moved to Bass
Bass was the easiest to get the hang of for the first 80%, and the most difficult to get that last 20%
Absolutely. I can't believe I haven't learnt this before but I'm learning Hey Bulldog. The feel of that man is hard to nail. The most influential player of them all I feel. How many fans know he was a guitar player at the start.
A mate of a mate is a keys player and reckons he can never be heard and gets lost in the mix!
How about two Omni 10 tallboys; one on each side of the stage for wide cover plus the stereo effect?
Worth considering??
You have two ears and one mouth. Use them in the same ratio!!

There is no such cabinet as an Omni 10.
I would suggest Jack 10s or 12s, built full range (with tweeters). Is this for your mate's monitoring of keys? If so, a pair of WH8 are fine, as long as he is also in the FOH with subs.

+1. Especially among guitarists. Just getting a guitar player to use a reasonable volume is quite a feat. Sound reproduction education should be required before someone is allowed to purchase and amplifier.

There's this local band, PA is 1X12 +horn on poles. no subs with mixer amp somewhere around 200 watts, Bass player Trace head on 2 X 10 cab and guitarist's gear: Marshall Major (200 valve watts?) and slope front 4X12. The kit is acoustic and unmic'ed. It sounds like you think it does. Marcel Marceau on vocals and a headache for the audience when they get home.
Jim Marshall says he's never given away an amp or cab in his life but there's walls of them on youtube. I would think he does a good line in empty 4X12s.
