ive got a couple of yamaha p7000 that are light weight and run 4 t48 all night long with no heat at all. Pretty good amp i reckon. They have done me well for a few years. P5000 on the dr280 has also been great.

2 p7000 on the 8 t48s and a p5000 on the 4 dr280s. we also tapped into the house Nexo tops to cover the back of the room. had to turn them down by the end coz the Crown 3600 was struggling and distorting. ;)
I would definately have wanted to run 6 or more tops tho to coast. I had another gig on in another venue so needed gear there too.
Oh and i also ran my dual t60 on the bottom end from 25-40 running off one channel of a behringer ep4000.
He didnt play a very bottom heavy set to tell the truth. i ended up shelving the bottom end up a bit to get more down low, and still never touched a red light. booooring. :hyper:

haha it sounded like he wasnt playing dnb. we did a small venue the other week and used their carlsbros NOT so good as well as 2 dr280 2 tht pumping. well the plan is 8 t30s about 500w each and 8 dr280 at about 400 450w each so that would be 2 p7000 and 2 p5000. am i correct? so it sounds like unless u buy a macro tech crown are crap.

im not saying crown are crap at all. just my xls802 isnt great, i think there must be something wrong with it. the macrotechs are great, i used them on my titans once and they rocked! the 8 dr280 will walk all over the 8 t30s tho if you are playing bass heavy stuff. that show i had 8 t48 and 1 t60 with 4 280s and i reckon 6 tops would have been about right. once you get to that size rig it gets more difficult to do placement. I had them across the front of the stage and the coverage was definately lobing. i should have been applying delay to them to counteract that but i was using my driverack so didnt have that luxury.

nah man, half is installed at one venue, and the other half is in the Dundee Student union for a regular club night i do. ( the subfocus night was a special one off in the bigger venue in the union. )

plus my van is bust and im struggling to afford a new one so my portability is down to, um, nothing.

Again, 2 THT are not gonna match 8 t30s. I reckon 1 t60 dual is about matching 2 t48 in the lower reaches. So you are going to need at least 4 THT. Probably more since the sensitivity of the THT is lower than the T60. (I dont know how to compare the graphs since the THT is measured corner loaded)

Since I didn't see it mentioned yet ... make sure you have proper limiters on everything.

I meant 2 tht 36" aswell as 8 t30  well I can't wait 2 get started on this better get saving. Ye transport is gonna be a pain we only have a transit at the min. So u have a dodgy xti no offence crown but no thanks. I wish I wish lab.gruppen would go bust I can't afford 6 grand on an amp. I like the yamaha p series they look good do u use the built in crossover?

It's an xls not and xti, also it was dropped and repaired in the past so that may have something to do with it. ;)
I've not had a clean bill of health with the yamahas either tho. One of my 3 p7000s has crapped out on me and was too expensive to repair (price of a ep4000) so I just got the ep4000. ;) also a p5000 needed repair too. I never run them into clipping so it's been annoying. I would love to upgrade to crown xti all round.

Don't use the yamaha amp crossover. You need proper processing to use these horns.
dBX Driverack or the DEQ/DCX combo.

Also you can't just run the THT along with the T30. Don't mix different horns in the same frequency passband. I did it as a test because I had the processing available to run the T60 from 25-40Hz and the titans from 40-100Hz.
