Me too, my dad and I always wanted to do that.
We still talk about getting an ultralight someday.

When I was a kid, my dad and his friend (and me to a lesser degree) built a "Woodhopper" ultralight. They bought the plans from Popular Mechanics or some similar magazine. It was based on a "Weedhopper" ultralight (made of aluminum and fabric). The Woodhopper was made of wood fiberglassed together with ridgid blue foam for the ribs of the wings. The foam would get dissolved by the fiberglasss so the ribs had to be 'painted' with 2 coats of Elmers glue first (!). It eventually did fly, but by that time, my dad had a real Weedhopper that out performed the Woodhopper due to its lighter weight. I flew the Weedhopper a few times (and actually crashed it once) but was pretty young - around 14 years old or so.
During that same time of my life, I thought I would like to build a kit car and still have plans laying around somewhere for the "Tri-Magnum". One of these days when my A.D.D. forces me to change hobbies, maybe I will build it. And a couple more kit cars. I swear I have a sickness. My wife agrees.

Here are some pictures of the build.
The 24's are almost done, I still need to:
-Cut the access door
-Glue on the other side piece
-Fill and sand screw holes and other finish sanding
-Paint
I have also more completed on the 200's. I have the tops and bottoms are done, as well as the phase plugs, but i haven't finished assembling the baffles as i am going to barrow a router and circle jig for the spacer ring. I tried to cut them with my jig saw, and just wasn't very happy with how they turned out. Maybe i was just in a hurry.
The goal is to get them done for this July 29th dance

All sides are on, only the back moons and back plate, access doors and main wiring ( arrays done ) are left.
Making the final push tonight!
Wish me luck!

Gee thanks.....
But seriously are they small changes or are they major build changes?
Either way i got them done in time ( minus paint ) for this dance last fri. night, and they ROCKED! What a good combo, with the 24s. I'm writing my review and will post later.
