I've asked the question to Behringer through their website. But haven't received any reply, yet.

I love what you've done, but it's not worth much unless reader know they are comparing apples with apples.

Well, they certainly aren't consistent. Look up an EP1500 and it doesn't say RMS, but does give you output at 1kz and output at 20-20kz. Then look up an EP4000, it give RMS and Peak......

You have to look either in the spec sheets or the manual for their numbers - the marketing info always quote ratings at 2 ohms stereo and/or 4 ohms bridged to look better.

I've just had another look at the EP4000 on the Behringer site.
The only place where power is specified is near the top:-
"2 x 2,000 Watts into 2 Ohms; 2 x 1,400 Watts into 4 Ohms; 4,000 Watts into 4 Ohms (bridge mode)".
I can't find any mention of what they mean by "watts".

However, I downloaded the manual.
The back page has full specifications, including "RMS @1%THD (sine wave) both channels driven".
Putting it in the same format as above, the RMS specs are:-
2 x 1,250 Watts into 2 Ohms; 2 x 950 Watts into 4 Ohms; 2 x 550 Watts into 8 Ohms; 2400 Watts into 4 Ohms (bridge mode)

"Peak Power, both channels driven" is also specified:-
2 x 2000 Watts into 2 Ohms; 2 x 1400 Watts into 4 Ohms; 2 x 2000 Watts into 8 Ohms; 4000 Watts into 4 Ohms (bridge mode).

So obviously the power quoted on the web page is PEAK. You have to download and read the manual to ascertain the RMS values.
Note also that the power is quoted at 1%THD, not 0.1% as some high quality amps do.

It's a real minefield trying to find specs that allow direct comparisons between brands.

I've downloaded all the manuals and spec sheets that I can get from Peavey and Behringer and I STILL can't clarify Peavey's ratings and the iNuke series ratings. Have asked Peavey to clarify their ratings.

Also where Behringer's quote peak ratings and RMS ratings, the ratio between the two ratings is not consistent. The ratio of RMS to Peak should be 0.7071. The ratio of Behringers ratings vary from 0.625 to 0.875.

OK, specs for the iNukes are a little harder to come by. For some reason, the RMS values are NOT in the manual, but ARE in both the web brochure (WB) and quick start guide (QSG). To further confuse the issue, the DSP models have a different output to the non-DSP ones and just to make things even clearer, the DSP model specs in the quick start guide are slightly different to the web brochure specs, yet the non-DSP specs are identical!! So without further ado:

so I assume that these were issued before they had actually made a single unit and not really to be trusted. Either way, if you take the lowest figure for each impedance value of each amp, I think you'll be pretty close. There is no mention of how the RMS values were obtained (out of a hat perhaps

), but from my NU3000DSP, I would say that the RMS values seem pretty spot on. There is a review of the 3000DSP at http://www.behringerdownload.de/_pdf/To ... _Rev.0.pdf - they measured the 3000DSP @ 1% THD and got 2x1176 into 2Ω; 2x600W into 4Ω and 2x312W into 8Ω - so those RMS figures from Berry are looking pretty bang on.
