Subs placed next to bass player

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Real nice kids, very respectful, hung on my every word. To be honest, I expected the worst. OMG these kids hit the stage and they were AWESOME!!! All originals, tighter than a gnat's ass in a dust storm. They had their music and their stage act down pat. I was SHOCKED. They were, by far, the best band out of the entire string of shows. Oddly enough, I can't remember their damn name!
Hanson?

But seriously, there is a lot to be said for a band that works with the sound crew...

The sound crew was me, myself, and I ... but I can't take any credit ... these kids ROCKED.

I made a couple calls ... the band's name is "Survive This". Definately not a kiddy band, and they're not riding on anyone's coat tails. They've got their own unique style and they're balls-to-the-walls. And I'm not one to hand-out compliments easily. If they can manage to stay together and keep progressing, they have some definate potential.

I would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who has contributed to my post.
A refresher course in physics and basic PA deployment with proper use of HP LP filters my mixes have suddenly become crystal clear.
I had a show last night that was in my opinion close to perfect.(needed more people) It was a loud rock band but I had no issues of not being TOO loud and I had no MUD on the stage or FOH.

I have been making the same bassackwards mistakes for awhile now and it is basic fundamentals that I have been overlooking.

I really can't stress enough to new guys getting into live sound how important the basics are.
