You would still need subs. And in that case you could do ot12's and you could use them for side fills or center fills for the really big events. Anything more than 250 and jacks start becoming impractical.

I am looking at my system a little more carefully. I have completed my dr300 and I will be posting the pictures soon. I was thinking of building dr200 instead but I will be able to put up a few extra. Looking at Bill`s estimated crowd numbers there is not much difference between the except weight and mobility. The other fact is that I have to ship these in knockdown form. I can get 5x5 sheets from my local lumber yard would one sheet be enough for a dr200?

You are on the right path for your needs. The DR300 is exactly the cab for your needs. You would need 3X as many DR200/DR250, and the DR300 is usable for your "smaller" gatherings. None of the Jack cabinets are appropriate for your needs. The smaller DR2xx would require more cabs, so you would not save any money. Keep checking for shippers who are willing to donate, or reduce cost, for your religious agency. Good luck!

There's also the issue of amplifiers. For instance, if you plan to run two cabs per amp side (4 ohms), that's four cabs per amp. So if you use twice as many cabs (DR300 / DR200) you will need twice as many amps. Granted, they'll be smaller amps, but they're still likely to cost you more, overall.

You DO realize that you're going to have to fly these line arrays, right? Have you had rigging engineered for this?

Will you be using T48s for subs?

I sometimes wonder if sound coverage is a matter of space covered rather than how many peeps are there in and or how noisy those people are...... well i just grab to the fact that in sound matters even with all those logical rules you just got to do what you know is right and then pray... thats what i think you have gone the right way Jesuchete go on fellow builder and God follower I (and i think many more here) am more than anxious to see your system running so keep us well informed

Thanks Israel for your encouragement. Once again thanks to Bill. Has any one bought the new beringer amp. I must say Iam tempted to plunge into these. I have read a lot of reveiws from various supplier sites and many of them don`t say much that is bad about them. I know that the mixers are iffy but how about the amps.

What happened with this build? Was looking good...

Quite late for replies, but most reviews, even on here, are favorable. Behringer amps are known to stand up pretty decently.

been a while. This is a question for those who have built the Ot15. How much plywood do I need for for one. i will be using arauco which available at Loewes in 4x8 sheets

A single 4x8 or just a bit more than a 5x5.

About two and a half hours away.

BTW, I don't have OTops. Actually they are Omni10.5s, 23" wide with melded arrays, S2010 loaded....precursor to the Jack110.
