claypool is an amazing fellow. if you like the kinda oddball stuff they have done together, check out That One Guy. I saw buckethead and That One Guy on tour 2 years ago. He's a solo artists, plays "the magic Stick" which is this wierd pipe/bass guitar/drum thingy. its pretty amazing.

Yes, I saw Buckethead and That One Guy in Lawrence, KS in 2007. Very good.

Blaupunkt THA-1250 PnP 1 Channel 600W Amplifier - it's $200 at amazon

It has variable High-pass and Low-pass filters, is very small and power efficient, and even comes with a remote that you can mount near your dash.

I've had mine for a little over a year now, and the sound is pristine.
Sorry about raising this dead thread, but thought I'd share this link for the above mentioned amp for $129.

I am seriously considering buying one for my JBL GTO1002 loaded autotuba.

I just bought the autotuba plans, and am planning on using a 10" driver. Would this amp be ok?? http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/infin ... 1300a.aspx its 200w RMS at 4 ohms with low pass filters.

That'll work fine. It will be about 100w at 8 ohms shich is what the impedance of a 4 ohm driver will be in the AT.

I just ordered the Auto Tuba plans, too. How would this amp do for an 8" driver? It's 240W RMS @ 4ohms. I know very little about car audio, so is the proper amp a single channel amp?

It would work fine. A mono amp or bridgeable 2 channel amp will work.

A cheaper option is go to Walmart and get this:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dual-400W-XPE ... r/15819244

I checked in your area and the Moline store has it in stock.

You'd want to bridge it to provide 150 watts X 1 @ 4 ohms. Its a little underpowered for your 240 watt woofer, but I think it's all you really need.

Edit: I looked at the website wrong. It seems the Moline store is out of stock, but it looks like Davenport has it.

Thanks! I didn't even think to check locally, I didn't think it could be cheaper than somewhere like PE.
