Google 'pink noise'. It's similar in power density to music, dropping by 3dB with each octave increase in frequency. Each octave contains an equal amount of noise energy. This means that the octave from 100 Hz to 200 Hz contains the same amount of noise energy as the octave from 1 kHz to 2 kHz. The power in each octave is also inversely proportional to the frequency of the signal. There are 100 frequencies between 100 Hz and 200 Hz whereas there are 1,000 frequencies between 1 kHz and 2 kHz, so in a pink noise signal the 1-to-2 kHz band is distributed over 10 times as many frequencies.

That’s a “bucket-list” visit right there Seth! So cool that you both could meet up in person. I’ve been on a couple of his membership zoom calls, schedule permitting. Awesome person.

Oh sweet, Seth. Where'd you happen to bump into Dave? Just an lucky accident?

My dad was invited to be the "featured act" for an open mic night at a small local bar. He and my mom invited a bunch of their friends to come. As it turns out, Dave is good friends of one of my folks friends. He and his GF/wife came as their guests.
Dave is indeed an awesome person. After I finished my roadie duties for my dad, Dave and I shot the shit for a good hour or so. The ladies all hit it off too, so I think I'll definitely be seeing them again. It's pretty rare to have someone to talk audio with that's at an equivalent knowledge level, let alone the mega audio nerd Dave is. It was definitely a treat. Totally down to earth. Totally a friendly guy. Totally passionate about the subject of audio.

I thought about you, Tom. I recall a conversation we had about him/his videos. Figured you'd get as much of a kick out of it as I did.

I'm playing it cool now, and I really did then too. But, inside I was a nervous mess for some reason. Mixing a grand total of 2 chanels for a noisy bar full of people who wouldn't ever notice the slight level adjustments I was making... he came in and sat right next to me and I'll be honest... I experienced a fair level of performance anxiety. LOL

I understand that....I've mixed in front of Paul Rogers a couple of times who mixed George Strait for decades and is now his production manager.
But ultimately, the only people you have to please are the audience and the guy that hired you.

Anyone else wishing they were in Belgium right now, too?

No bite's, eh?
Tomorrowland
This year's event is occurring over 3 weekends and is sold out. 600,000 ticket's at roughly $125 is a lot of money, $75,000,000. I'd love to see their P&L statement.
I wonder, how many T60's and DR300's it would take to cover an event like this? (and what the total cab cost savings would be)

I lived there for four years and would go back in an instant!!! (The Flemish side, that is). Music festivals are a huge staple in Europe. Although, you wouldn't find me at an electronic dance festival. Haha

I couldn't imagine how many T60s and DR300s this would take. It makes my head hurt.

I think they used L-Acoustics and it looks like 4 main hangs with subs behind the main hangs as well as spaced out 2-3 feet (by the looks of it) across the entire width. Unfortunately, there's not enough resolution in this photo to be able to count the number of cabs in each hang. I'd be curious to know. I'd also love to be a fly on the wall and watch the entire system tuning process.
