A-Frame method for building Titans

#1 Post by brodave2 »

A while back someone reported on using the A-frame method for building Titans. I loathed the first build I did, two titan 48's. Warping auraco and screws moving panels drove me nuts. I tried the A-frame method this time, used mostly 18ga brad nails and staples, and Russian birch which didn't warp hardly at all. Here are some pics of the build. I will do it this way next time also.

Good idea to cut the two at a time. How did you cut these...plunge saw or sled guide as in the plans?

Am I correct in noticing you did not dado them? What was the reason for going the cleat way?

I freehanded the outer cuts on a table saw, then did the one inner cut with a sabre saw. I use the cleats only on the last turn where the braces are the widest, and I use 1/4". It's just easier to fit that way. The A frames are 1/2" and I glue and bradnail them.
