Table Saw Riddle

#1 Post by Pixelmaster »

Riddle:

What do you get when you combine the following? (If you ask my wife she will tell you "Trouble" but that is not the right answer)

1) An "old school" 1950's Craftsman Table Saw for $75 off of Craig's list

2) A new wooden stand and new electrical

3) A cheap shop vac from Lowe's

4) ...and a new triple chip carbide table saw blade

Turn your monitor upside down for the answer!

Seriously, the point I'm making here is simply that there are some great tools available on sites like Craig's list for those of us that would rather buy a great tool for next to nothing! (In many cases these "older" tools are built better than much of what you will find brand new).

Here's to making some more saw dust!

That looks awesome Thats a saw from Sears was making real tools. Now you need to get a line on some wings!
There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.

I've got the wings for it...not pictured cause they are with a buddy of mine who is doing some repair work on them.

Once the table extensions are bolted back in place the next project is building the panel jig - that puppy is the biggest time saver in the world!

Can't wait to start on the T24's!

A stone and some 3in1 or WD40 will make that table look bran' new. there should be a bolt or two in the fence that will undo most insults of time and travel. There's another to straighten the trunion inside. Those saws can be set to within a gnat's arse-hair of perfection.
