J15 Build

#1 Post by Clef's of Bass »

I'm back for another J15 build (woofer only).

I was visiting my local hardwood supplier, and much to my surprise, they had BB ply!

Sourced a fresh new Delta Lite II 2515. :hyper:

This should be another fun build.

Making some slow progress. Pilot drilled radiuses in the corners, jig saw cut most of the waste, the set up a flush trim router for the rest of it. Clamped the six" diameter plug to the center, followed with the router. Then clamped straight edge across the length then the width of the baffle for all of straight cuts to finish. Getting closer to the glue up!! :noob:

I got a lot of the glue up done for the middle part and have the baffle glued to the bottom. I'm ready for the mouth panels before the top. I'm going to lay it up, clamp, and drill for pilots. Then disassemble, glue, and finish with 1" countersunk #6 screws to hold them tight in place for the PL dwell time. So far, so good 8)

I'm also taping off all of the exterior glue joints to keep the PL off of the panels.

Love that BB ply.....so fun to work with and then look at. Too bad we always end up covering it up.
