Coax in sla?

#1 Post by Mikesummers »

Dayton offers a 4” coax speaker. Can this be used for an SLA application?

It spaces the tweeters too far apart. You could use it in the CurveArray center, but the price is at least twice that of separates.

Thanks Bill. Looking for drivers, PE has only the shielded version of the 4”, i assume this is fine?
Also, since xmax is 1.5mm, do i need a high pass at 80hz or so to protect the 4 inchers? (Thinking sub of course)

Thx

You shouldn't need a high pass filter. AVRs with sub outs have them built in. PE has at least a dozen 4 and 4.5 inch for $12 or less, including closeouts like this: https://www.parts-express.com/CWE-125B2 ... quantity=1
