Roger, down the rabbit hole I go again, I've given up worrying about the cost of similarly specced anything down here these days man!
Haha.
Look out for ferrets, they bite. Glad your name isn't Warren (no offence to any Warren's implied or intended).
Happy Fathers day mate...

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

 I'm still in Kindergarten then

Roger, that makes sense

In this thread it's mentioned the Penn Elcom 1105 handle projection into the horn path of a DR280 isn't an issue, is this still valid? Pros/Cons of fitting them above or below the horn side braces? Sketchup shows them below.

viewtopic.php?p=30429&hilit=DR280+handles#p30429

It also talks of routed handles in the rear of the cab, the thread is ancient and the pictures aren't available anymore. I think I have an idea of what they may look like, are they on the corners of the cab vertically routed into the back and sides?

Am I asking these questions in the right place, or should I start a new thread? I considered a build thread, however It'll take me another year to just dryfit the first cab I reckon

G'day Keryn!
On the same page you linked, a bit further down, Bill says:
Dish handles are OK if they're small. Monster size dishes will block too much pathway.
In my mind, it might not matter so much if the handles are above or below for the first/ first pair cab (I reckon below would make cab handling better myself) but certainly should be below for a second pair stacked, because of handling.

Towards the end of my DR250 build thread (now on page 2 of build threads) you can see what the routed rear handles look like from a couple of angles. Make a jig and they're a piece of.. err... cake....

Good morning all, I'm looking for feedback on this driver as a substitute for the 3012HO, apart from the VAS being low the specs are ok (just!), I'm not educated enough on T/S parameters yet to know how important VAS is, though I do understand all parameters are important, is there wiggle room here? And would the graphed response count as a rising response to midrange, or cone break-up? Xmax is 7.1mm

Vas doesn't matter all that much, so long as it isn't hugely large. The spikes above 2kHz are break up, but don't matter as they're above the crossover frequency. It is shy of the response of the 3012HO from 1kHz-2kHz, due to higher Qes.
