Qts and 80hz peak
Qts and 80hz peak
I have an Eminence custom driver (H&K QS 115 woofer) that I'd like to build a Simplexx cab for, basically because it's simple. I have also been considering a Jack cab. I have attached the provided TS specs. Given the Qts of 0.49, from Bill's excellent build intructions and from modelling, I should expect an approximately +3dB rise at around 80Hz. Besides using a different driver, with a low Qts, is there anyway to mitigate this effect? Would a Jack cab by design not have this 80Hz bump? Would it have other issues? Thanks for any help you all can provide me with.

Re: Qts and 80hz peak
That driver will work similarly to the BP1525, other than in maximum output, which is very much limited by the 3mm xmax. If you want to eliminate the midbass hump you either need to use a lower Q driver or double the size of the enclosure.
