BFM logo plate and spec plate laser burned on anodized aluminum business cards blanks. Turned out well and fast (maybe 90 s per). I had to redesign the BFM logo, as the graphic from the instruction sheet didn't import well into Lightburn. It turned out OK, except matching the font is tough. I got close at home, then that font wasn't on the shop laser PC - sigh.

One final image with logo attached.

Seems amp head is on back-order, so it'll be awhile before the sound check. Trying to ignore the doubts about the driver and whether the amp blowing might have damaged it. Fun, fun project. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow - FINALLY got to test it a bit yesterday after what felt like an eternity. Spare you the details, but I ended up with the Behringer BXD3000H amp head. Class D, yes, but not pocket sized like the TC BAM. Price point was right and it's 300 wats.

Wow - this is what room-shaking bass feels like. Amp puts out 180 watts into 8 ohms. I never went above maybe 40% on the master volume. So, it's putting out room-shaking bass at maybe 75 watts. Now, we're talking a modest bedroom.

Unbelievable. Now, I really am a noob to most of this, but this is just amazing to me. This kind of sound from one 10" speaker. Clear, tight, and BASSY. Very, very pleased.

Lark, I might recommend Fusion 360 by Autodesk. It has a very nice 2D parametric sketching engine, and you can export DXF/DWG etc for CAM/CNC software. There are tons of tutorials out there on YouTube to walk you through the basics. And you can do very capable 3D if you so choose. I used to pitch it in a former life when I was an Autodesk Reseller CAD jock. It's no Autodesk Inventor, but it works great for home users, light design like what you are doing is in it's wheelhouse.

Free for Makers, not for profit, IIRC less than $10k USD/yr in profits qualifies.

*edit* OH, and I owe you a DXF or something for Lightburn, I cleaned up the logo as well. I also redrew/modfied a bit in Inventor, and it had the correct font.

Great looking badges, our laser can't do anything that complicated (anodized) so my logos (on stainless steel) are barely visible. Going to try bluing them or something.

I don't do anything complicated, just let the laser burn off the anodizing with low power.

Lark, I sent you a DXF via email. Our laser software is simple, so I can only grab one path, can't shade or anything. I was hoping to etch some pattern to 'widen' my lines. I guess i'll have to see If i can buy a sheet of anodized and try that. Not sure if our laser guys now how to do 'low power' though LOL

Quick update after a few months of daily use. ABSOLUTELY loving the cab! Tight, Loud, Clear. It's just amazing to me. This much sound in this small a package. I have no problems holding my own with my jamming buddy, unlike before (too loud electric guitar amp behind his feet pointing at me)

THANKS Bill and everyone that pitched it with advice!
