8 T 48's and 4 DR 250's outside

#1 Post by djtrumptight »

I finally got to use all 8 T-48's and boy oh boy was i mesmerized.i connected a GX7 to each 3400 watt Generator,i probably could have powered both amps from one generator but Friday i ran 4 subs and 4 tops off the same generator and it appeared to be struggling.Once i turned on both generators i found that the one i used Friday was constantly loping on heavy bass notes so i gotta get that genny checked out but all in all the sound was great, people walking past the subs were grabbing their stomachs or their chest from the bass, many compliments on the system, many contacts made with people having upcoming events that want to book me.I had 6 Titans, amp rack,4x8 plywood boards,3 generators and misc equipment in my chevy express 2500 van and a 4x8 trailer full with the rest of the equpiment and the best part is,at 59 years old (my birthday was friday the 12th),168 pounds,i deployed everything by myself and broke it all down by myself,2 hours to set up,2 hours to break down. This I Phone microphone does the system no justice as it doesnt catch the low notes but it sounded beautiful and carried far.

+1. Your phone is held upright for making phone calls so that the speaker and mic are in the correct positions relative to your ear and mouth. It should be held horizontal when taking photos and videos, unless you have one eye above the other.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice lol. It's so much easier to see the landscape... in landscape mode. 😬😉

But great review! Looks like everyone had fun!

Listening through my crappy monitor speakers, one thing that is really clear is the lack of harmonic distortion coming out of the T48's.

I can't hear anything coming it of them on my laptop. That's a good thing, because if I did it would all be harmonic distortion above 150Hz that my laptop speakers can reproduce.

djtrumptight, it's so good to see you back! I was wondering, a couple of month ago. how you were doing...if you were still providing PA work. Glad to see all of it working! Heh, so much bass that you didn't even need V-plates, huh? LOL.

I didn’t think of the Phone orientation,I will remember that next time,I had both V-plates with me but by the time I turned the system on and the DJ started playing I was like what the hell,I don’t need them.
Hey Tom,I haven’t been doing too much since the pandemic, mainly going to work and back home and still ended up with Covid January 1st but it was mild thankfully. As of late I have been doing some gigs for clients that have events that hire me to DJ and/or provide their sound so it’s mainly keeping that repeat business going. Thanks for the feedback guys.
