I agree with you, Grant. It is interesting. Although, if I didn't have wireless gear, I'm not sure it would be interesting enough. You're probably right too, about identifying vacant bands not being a real big issue now-a-days.

It's likely more of a toy/tool for me to fiddle with than it is a necessary piece of gigging equipment. Although I do intend to glean a little knowledge about bandwidth management in the endeavor and learn to set up my wireless devices with an intentional plan instead of the willy-nilly, pick channels purely based on the numbers "speaking to me" method I've been relying on up to this point. I have five IEM transmitters and only 2 wireless mics, so it's not like I have a ton of wireless stuff. I suppose it could also be helpful in identifying the least congested WiFi band to set the Gig Router on. But, I have an app in my phone that's probably more convenient for that purpose.

Once I learn more about bandwidth management and set up all my stuff, it may just end up in the gig bag along side the Multi-Meter and Oscilloscope as a troubleshooting tool should the need ever arise.

I'll keep you guys posted and share whatever I learn along the way. In the absolute worst case, it'll give you guys some reading material. I should get to fiddling within the next few days. Stay tuned! (shameless pun)

I designed my first cab in 1970. It's not among the present collection. Of those I think the T24 is the oldest.

Roger, was the first cab a midrange or a sub?

Electric bass. In 1970 there was no such thing as tops and subs.

Hey, have any of you guys used the Amazon Alexa Echo Studio smart speaker? I bought one as a gift for my Mom about a year ago. Every time I visit, I'm always so impressed with the musicality, given what it is. I haven't run any spectrum analysis and I suspect there's a fair amount of psychoacoustic bass DSP, but it "sounds" like it digs a little deeper than any of the other larger streaming based speakers I've heard, like Sonos. Have any of you had a similar (or opposing) experience?

On Friday, July 14/23 I drove over to Albany NY to see Camrynekai's PA at the Farmerman Fest. I had a fine time tasting different whiskeys and beer, listening to the bands, and chit chatting with Camrynekai. Whilst I was so close, I contacted Tactix to see if he wanted to come to the festival, and meet up. It ended up being that he and his family met up with me at the Golden Eagle restaurant at the famous hairpin curve in Massechusets. Lunch was good, the view was spectacular, and the visit was much enjoyable.

Seth I bought a JBL Boombox 2 a couple of years ago mostly for camping, it's wicked! Properly loud, long battery life, waterproof and if you have 2 you can link them as left/right for stereo!

That's great! I wouldn't say the Echo Studio is proper loud. It's loud enough for most in-room listening, but I wouldn't expect to host a dance party with it. I'll keep the JBL option in the back of my mind if the need ever arises. Thanks for the mention Keryn.
