J210 driver selection
Would a pair of BP102 4 ohm's be a good choice?
Re: J210 driver selection
The drivers mentioned in the plans are the Beta 10, S2010, and 2510. The plans also state a rising response into the midrange is required.
The BP102-4's Fs is slightly low, Vas is slightly high, and comparing the response charts, I'm not convinced the BP102-4 is a good choice.

Here's the standard 8Ω BP102 too. Also not looking like a good choice for a Jack.
ETA: Bill, if I'm off base, please correct me.

Re: J210 driver selection
Are you asking with a view to building a less bulky than the J15 bass cab?
If the answer is yes, it has been built before with BP's for that purpose and works quite well according to the builder.
Do you particularly want an 8 ohm load? I take it you're looking at the 4 ohm version to series wire for 8 ohms, but again, if it's for a bass cab, then 2 x 8ohms drivers in parallel would be a 4 ohm load.
I'm not an advocate of flogging amps by running them at their minimum load when one doesn't have to, but it's an option.
Finally, the 210 is cumbersome itself. Is there some particular reason 2 x 1 x 10's wouldn't also work? That would cost you 1 extra top and 1 extra bottom in ply...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Thanks for the input Seth, I already have the BP's and was looking to save $$$. Looks like the best price point/ performance would be the delta 2510's.

Re: J210 driver selection
I might be asking for too much of a solution here. I wanted an 8 ohm J210 for a less bulky more easier to transport cab. And potentially pair it with the J15 for a two cab solution.Grant Bunter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 2:10 amAre you asking with a view to building a less bulky than the J15 bass cab?

But the more I'm researching it's looking like I'm going to have to build both the J210 and additional J15.
For loud jamming use the 2 J15's, and for quieter jams the J210.

Never mix cabs.Clef's of Bass wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 4:02 am And potentially pair it with the J15 for a two cab solution.
I've used my J15 exactly once, that being an outdoor gig where I had no boundary reinforcement. Indoors I've never found a need for it, my J12 is plenty. If a J15 isn't enough you don't need a second J15, you need to be in the PA.For loud jamming use the 2 J15

As always, thanks for the input Bill!
I went with the Deltalites II 2510's. Just so impressed with the 15" delta's performance in the J15, figured the 10's should be good too.
I'm on the fence on building a J210 or J210 lite?

How much cab is enough?Clef's of Bass wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 5:01 pm As always, thanks for the input Bill!

Do you reckon you'll rehearse or ever do gigs where a single J10 would have been sufficient?
If you answer yes to that, build 2 x 1 x J10 rather than 2 x 10.
Since you've gone with the 2510, build the lite cabs...

Weight really isn't an issue, does the lite sound better or get louder?Grant Bunter wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 5:05 pmHow much cab is enough?Clef's of Bass wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 5:01 pm As always, thanks for the input Bill!

The lite does look like a funner build though.

The lite is, well, not as heavy. That's it. No Louder, sounds the same.Clef's of Bass wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 5:10 pm does the lite sound better or get louder?
