I was thinking along the lines of:

(audience) Turn down bass please, eardrums are bleeding
(sound guy) Can't do - bass muted at desk

Been there, done that.

I'm so happy that the band I mix all the time (including last night) runs the bass direct and a Roland drum kit....and everyone but the guitar player is on ears. The only thing I have to fight on stage is the guitar amp.....and that's a fight I gave up on a long time ago.
