I ordered the XF212 Cab plans in a PDF format, but received along with them what I assume to be the jig plans in the .skp format.
Any suggestions on how to open it?

Follow the instructions in the email.
Re: Can't Open XF 212.skp File
The email says to download the sketchup program to view the model etc.
I have the model plans in PDF and don't need the sketchup program.
Perhaps you need that program to open the jig plans. The email does not state that.

The jig plans were sent separately.
If you didn't need the sketchup model we wouldn't go to the trouble of providing it. Suit yourself.

You should be able to build it without the Sketchup. That will let you look at it in 3D. It's a fairly simple build if you have some decent tools. But, you can download Sketchup for free.....or use it online. Anyway, there's a free option.

Re: Can't Open XF 212.skp File
The PDF file is a text document, written construction and assembly instructions that also contains helpful illustrations.
The Sketchup (.skp) file is a highly accurate 3D rendering of the cab, a model that illustrates every little detail of every part, along with various construction options... look at any part, from any angle, as close or far away as it needs to be, to be helpful.
Sometimes, it's difficult to state, in words, what a picture clearly shows. Such as which direction beveled cuts should be made (like all 4 sides of the baffles on the XF). I find the Sketchup rendering gives me a visual reference that's invaluable at times and minimizes mistakes.
If you find yourself not being able to clearly understand and visualize the part you're making, a quick look at the Sketchup will usually clear up any confusion.

I think you are misunderstanding the file I can't open.
I can open and print the PDF.....It WAS the *.skp file that I had a problem with.
Problem has been solved.
