Full BFM system still going strong

#1 Post by Preston »

I built this system slowly over a couple years. T48s and OT12’s. WH10 and WH8 on stage. As pictured easily covers small festivals of a thousand or so. Modular and scalable. I’m still astonished at how good it sounds. Midas M32, Crown and QSC amps, driverack.

That's awesome Preston. 8 T48's and 8 OT12's seems like it would be an phenomenal setup! The deployment looks appropriately done too.

Have you used v-plates on the subs?

+1

Hey, look at that! 3 different sizes of T48s, which allows for great adaptability (enough rig for any gig). Good thinking.

I used Vplates a few times with T39s, but have never deployed with the T48s. It’s not often that I get the real estate! Most often use them lined up center. I had a good 60 feet separation here.
Yes, I have 3 different sizes. 36” is a beast, I try to actually avoid needing to move them. 18” are great for indoors and small shows. 24” really hits the sweet spot for me.

Looks awesome, Preston. I can only imagine how good it must sound. What are the Otops stacked up on?
2xT30 (20", 3012LF)
2xT30 (21", 3012LF)
4xOtop J-array (Beta12, melded/straight piezos)
Truck Tuba (MCM)
Next up: 2xJack12 or family of table tubas

I use a small 4 foot tall scaffolding to stack the OT12s. Black bed sheets from Walmart and a couple small spring clamps to dress it up.
