Concerning PA amps, lots of knowledgable peeps will chime in.
There are hundreds of possibilities, it depends on weight, cost, reliability, reputation, size, availability..

I like the old-fashioned lead sleds. You can get them for very little money second-hand, and I like the way they sound.
They are extremely heavy. The old Crowns, maybe the Macro-Tech series.

For light, modern amps, the light Crown XLS or XTi series are really good. They have some useful DSP on them, crossovers and limiters.

If you are looking for new and cheap available in Belgium, Thomann does a large line of t-Amp power amps. They are loved and hated in equal measure.
Those Crown XLS's are more affordable than I imagined... Thanks!

I've been running XLS amps for several years (I've got 6 of 'em). Not a failure yet.

If I use two pairs of Jacks, would something like 2x525W at 4 Ohms be enough (Crown XLS 1502)?

More than enough. For PA use (especially with subs), the 1002 would probably be all you need.

For two pairs of Jack 12 cabinets using 8 Ohm drivers recommended in the plans, that looks about right to my amature eye.
It will be very loud..

Bruce is probably right. I have the XLS 1002, it's very powerful.
But the cost differential is 83 Euros, not that much.
They are both the same size and weight, and are shallow enough to fit nicely in a shallow DJ rack, if you are trying to stay small.

At that price difference - the 1502 would be a good choice and give you more headroom....but, the 1002 will do the job if money is an issue.
