I'm not familiar with Ubuntu. Is it a spreadsheet?

Ubuntu is a flavor of Linux. It’s an operating system.
It, like windows, can run Open office which has a version of word, excel and power point.

How much power would it take a speaker with 98dB average sensitivity to match the output of a speaker with a 102dB average on 125watts?
The answer is 42. Even if I'm wrong, the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything is still 42.

Of course, the ultimate question is something else, but the answer is 42.

If you're struggling with that, go read all 5 books in the "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" trilogy...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

In that case, I've no reason to lose any weight... I've got the perfect waist size.

I'm not even sure what I'm looking at....

Although it's not that different than the guitar player I'm mixing tonight. I'm amazed at how much cable clutter he can accumulate for a guitar, an amp, and a pedal board. Sad, because he's an amazing picker.....I'd love to hear him with a Tele, a cord, and a Deluxe with no pedals.

It used to be me as well before I decided to get rid of the pedals and finally learn to ride the guitar's volume knob. Been much happier since then.

I was just thinking about you the other day Bryan, wondering if you were still poking around. Glad you are. Any plans to put some gig time on the T39's?

My got-to pedal is something called a tuner.

I do have my channel switching pedal up front, but that's it.

I hope so. At the moment though the military has us pretty well locked down due to COVID. We are allowed to go to restaurants and stores but not to establishments whose primary business is selling alcohol. So that pretty much rules out playing music and running sound.

On another note, my retirement request was approved so I'll be outta here in December. I hope that I can do more musically without the heavy restrictions that come along with active duty.

:D :D :D that's hilarious, Seth!

Just dug out my db meter. The cicadas are registering over 90db right now. Hot day, just had a little rain, and they are singing like crazy!

I pulled out my meter at the wedding reception I was at last night mixing a band. Before the band ever started, it was hitting 85-90db with just the crowd.

Beautiful wedding venue, but the absolute worst acoustics of any building I've been in. I've mixed there before and thought it sucked.....I was right!

Concrete floors, stucco walls with huge windows down each side and a stucco back wall. The stage alcove is also stucco (well, it looks like stucco, probably just swirly mud over sheetrock). I used absolutely no reverb or delay the entire night. I stood in front of the speakers - 2 feet - and the lead vocal was washed in reverb. There was only one monitor on stage - everyone else had ears. The reflections were so bad that they were bouncing from the far wall back to the stage and back in the mics.

The drummer had to turn down the hat and ride in his ears because those mics were picking up so much of the room verb.

I hope I never have to mix there again. It's an absolutely annoying night - never being able to do justice to this band.

Thanks for your service Bryan and congrats on your retirement  If I could go back in time, I'd have enlisted right out of high school.

Hopefully the COVID restrictions will loosen up for you over the next couple months.
