Is there a OTOP 212 and what's the loudest neo woofer?
Is there a OTOP 212 and what's the loudest neo woofer?
Just curious if anyone has built an OTOP 212 and what's the loudest woofer in neo 12" to use? Thanks

I remember someone having some of those several years ago. The 3012HO would be the loudest of the suggested speakers I would think.
6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Re: Is there a OTOP 212 and what's the loudest neo woofer?
Most people would build 2 x standard Otop12's (per side for example) rather than 1 x 212.
There's a host of reasons for that. A single Otop12 is more manageable with 1 person, scale able, and doesn't require any thought about impedance manipulation per side power amp wise if you ended up using 2 x 212 cabs a side (ie a 2 ohm/channel stable amp).
Also, you probably don't want or need a 212 with an entire melded array, and I'm not sure you could do half melded half flat in 1 cab.
Bruce has it nailed I think, the loudest driver would be the 3012HO...

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Thanks guys so there is such a set of plans from Bill double horn loaded Otop 212? Just for planning purposes, and yes scalability is first and foremost 212.

Thanks Bruce, when I built the Omni 12 TB loaded with Kappalite 12 LF, I was amazed at how low it sounded in the cab and it is my main DJ speakers when doing parties. I was skeptical about Eminence but now I am a big fan. Now to order the plans thanks guys.

I was able to open sketchup, and saw the 212 but no measurements. Is there a way of getting the measurements? Are there other companies or individuals doing cnc on this particular model? Thanks

The link I gave you is for the Sketchup "viewer", it doesn't have the measuring tool. You can just sign up for the free version of Sketchup, which is different than the viewer application and is web based and accessible from any browser platform (IIRC). The free version has the measuring tool. Otherwise, the measurements are in the plans. Did you get the PDF version of the plans?

Re: Is there a OTOP 212 and what's the loudest neo woofer?
Between the notes in the plans and the sketchup model, it's covered. I'd go with two 1x12" to have options. Well, I guess I actually did You can always just stack them on top of each other for a 2x12, but you can also split them for stereo PA, or use a single when space is tight.
2xT30 (20", 3012LF)
2xT30 (21", 3012LF)
4xOtop J-array (Beta12, melded/straight piezos)
Truck Tuba (MCM)
Next up: 2xJack12 or family of table tubas
2xT30 (21", 3012LF)
4xOtop J-array (Beta12, melded/straight piezos)
Truck Tuba (MCM)
