Extra db

#1 Post by himhimself »

Just thinking about my setup for an outdoor event coming up this holiday weekend. The area is quite hilly. Is there any benefit to setting up downhill or uphill? My gut says speakers aiming uphill at the listeners might reinforce the low frequency sound waves a little, but they have no idea. Every bit helps when outside so I thought I’d ask.

Thanks for the quick response, Bill. Can't wait to shake the neighborhood with the tubas again :-)

Picture the Hollywood Bowl, or Red Rocks, or any outdoor amphitheater, including the Coliseum of Rome and the theater at Delphi Greece. Long before there was amplification the ancients figured out how to maximize sound projection to an audience.

Another successful outing with t30s and otops. Ran nonstop for about 8 hours without a glitch. I love these speakers!
