Thanks again guys for the pointers and encouraging words.

I was out of town for a few days. Just back home this evening. Circle jig came in so I gave it a go. I got the Milescraft instead of the Jasper. The hole came out just a little bigger than I intended, but still fine, a nice fit, just not as snug as I'd like. Maybe 1/8" over, 1/16 gap all around. I'll see about getting the baffle hole in the anchor a little more precise.

A side note about the warpy ply; it seems less warpy. Maybe just because it's in smaller pieces and less apparant. Don't get me wrong, it's still visually warped. Just not quite as bad as it looked before. So, good news I guess.

The camera on my phone isn't taking good pictures. I'll see if I can find another photo/video device to document progress for a build thread for you guys. It's my goal to make at least one step toward completion per day. Big or small, no matter.

Anchor's attached to the baffle, drew out all the panel locations and lines on outer sides for fastener locations, and installed panel's 1 & 2 today. Loving the crown staples. Waaaaay more efficient than screws. I think the table saw's not making entirely square cuts. I'll have to investigate a little and see what's up. Not being too anal about this first one, so if it's out of square a little, oh well. But would like to have the next 4 as perfect as can be.

Anyway, just an update on my end. Hope you guys are all doing well. Been a little quiet around here lately. Anything cool going on?

Hey, what have you guys used for mounting your SpeakOn connectors in your subs. The T39 plans don't mention it, but the sketchup shows what looks like 1/4" or 1/2" ply backing behind a couple holes drilled in the outer panel. I found that method spelled out in other plans. But, I've also seen the metal dishes with SpeakOn's in them. Do you guys have an opinion on one or the other? What did you choose?

For my subs I use
https://www.neutrik.com/en/product/nl4mpr
Bit of gasket tape, and they're all done
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

I use the same one. For the recessed hole I use a 2 1/8" hole saw. And for the backing I use 1/2" ply PL'd and screwed in place. For the connector barrel hole in the backing I use the hole saw again, but only to center the pilot bit. I drill about an 1/8" in with the hole saw pilot bit just to make sure I'm center then I use a 25 mm forstner bit for the connector barrel hole. To seal the connector I use this stuff: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Permatex-3- ... /308852434
I let it dry until it's no longer tacky but still moldable then I install the connectors. Works like a charm.

Seth, if you didn't want to flush mount then the backing isn't necessary.

Oh wow. Okay. Looks like everyone's done it differently. Sweet. Thanks guys!

Bruce, is it tricky at all to get hands into that dish for disconnecting when there's 2 plugged in? I do like the idea of less stick out.

Bryan, Where did you get your handles and were they 100% able to clear panel 9 (45º corner, short one at the top) ?

Not at all.....even with my wide hands and stubby fingers.

I just drill a hole for the body of the connector, poke the wire through, solder up, then attach the connector(s) to the cab. No recessing, extra ply, anything fancy.
I've got them in different spots in the pairs as I've built them, but they are all on the back, and I've never smashed one, broke one or wished I'd have done something else.

Some things just don't require a lot of consideration...

I use this handle: https://www.reliablehardware.com/medium ... dle-1.aspx

In order for it to fit I had to increase the width of panel 9 from 4 1/4" to 7 5/16". That gave just enough clearance to fit the handle. In the end I'm happy with the result.

Bruce, Grant, Bryan... Thanks guys. I value and appreciate your input

Today I got the rest of the pieces cut out for the 16" cab I'm currently assembling along with a handful of panels for the upcoming 4 x 30" wide cabs. I installed panels 3 and 4. It's starting to look like something.

Ordered DuraTex, SpeakOn's, and a few other things. Decided to do the deep angled dish on the rear (Thanks Bruce) and 2 up front in panel 6 for keeping wiring out of view when corner loaded. Gonna do either surface mounted like Grant does or recessed like Bryan recommended for those in panel 6. Not sure yet.
