:D bump,

Just wanted to do additional follow up,I finished my second otop12 with delta-pro450 12” and cd asd1001. I was struggling to get good eq when running mono with single top. Not sure what the deal was don’t really care but with the two otop12 cabs set up and dialed in to my best abilities these things sound good, they are way more efficient, and sound every bit as good as my old peaveys and they are quite a bit smaller I know I said all that already but I had my reservations during initial testing but I am so pleased with them I just had to post about it!!!

I played a movie through the rig just for fun and it set a new standard for sound in my ears. These cabs rock

So been a while now, put some miles on the otops. I need to build a second set. Two is not quite enough to keep up with the 4 t45s I have. Just did a Halloween block party’s hat was awesome. There were two large jumping castles near where I was set up ran off a very noisy rv generator. The amount of people and the scale of the event with the loud generator made it hard for me to get coverage. I was playing pretty much full tilt hurting my ears and yet fifty feet out I could hardly hear anything over the rest of the noises. I will need a second set of otops to do this event next year. Running my little Honda 2200w power inverter went perfectly. The thing never ramps up to high idle so that is impressive. Had a car audio guy confront me after the event said he had never seen speakers like mine before. I gave him a little detail and he could not believe I did all that on like 1500w peak

Bass heavy ears would say one t45 to a single otop12 is a good standard but for the normal set of ears that don’t need bass saturated music two otop12 cabs per one tuba45 should be a good setup maybe even 3/1. At the point of running 3 or more mains per side they need elevated and tilted other wise you saw near standers heads off in order to get the throw needed. I am going to have to come up with a lift contraption in the future to fly my speakers with.

I appreciate the help I have received here the product is great and the support is sufficient. Thanks

Well I just ordered the parts to build two more otop12s. I am going to attempt to do a video log of it and post it on YouTube. I will see how that goes

I got a wild hair, I’m going to attempt to build the otop12 diffraction horn out of 0.100in sheet aluminum. I have access to some scrap material and a break and bender as well as welder. I punched out the pieces in about 10
minutes with a break.

It will work, but I doubt one in five hundred builders would have the ability to make them.

I found some more scraps and have started on three more diffraction horns. I am excited about having these one off parts in my build. I’m out of argon at the moment so no welding practice for me for a bit the build is slow.
