Re: Amp(s) for small venue
Uh oh. I bid on a NU-6000, not a NU4-6000. Hoping the seller won't be too mad at me that I can't buy that one. Anyway, I'm between getting the NU4-6000 and a NU-3000 new, or getting Crown XLS 1500 and 2 XLS 1000. Price will be about the same with either option. Which do you guys think is the better option of the 2?

I'd buy the Crown over the Behringer any day.harquahalas wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 11:11 am Uh oh. I bid on a NU-6000, not a NU4-6000. Cool! I was waiting to hear your thoughts Bruce. I just picked up the XLS 2500 for $237. Now I just need a couple XLS 1000 or 1500 and I'm set. I won't even have to bridge the subs

The seller has 2 more 2500s. Too much power?

If you can get 'em that cheap, I'd buy 'em.....you're sure they are XLS2500s? Seen pics?

Yep. There are pictures. I think he sold one of the other 2, or it may be that he only had 2 and I saw the one I had already bought. Trying to get the second one now. That will leave me with one more good deal to find

I run one 2500 for tops and keep two additional in the trailer as backups for whatever might come up.

Re: Amp(s) for small venue
The only thing that $200 extra for the Crown gets you is that if an amp goes down you get more sympathy from the musicians with a rack full of shiny new Crowns than a rack full of Berhringer gear from the old timers .Bruce Weldy wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 2:34 pmI'd buy the Crown over the Behringer any day.harquahalas wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 11:11 am Uh oh. Except that I have NEVER had a Crown go down on me.....and I have had a Behringer crap out.CoronaOperator wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 8:32 pm

And I just don't trust their power ratings.

You are making some good deals.....which proves they are out there, if you just take the time to look.harquahalas wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 11:10 am Alright. Just scored a xls1000 for $150 shipped and picking up another one locally for $100 with a rack! I'm all in at $487

Re: Amp(s) for small venue
I'm ordering mic stands and cables today. It was commented earlier that K&N Stands are good. Does different quality of XLR cables make a difference? I need 15 cables in the 25'-30' range and 8 3' cables, so the cost adds up. I'm looking at Hosa Pros with Rean connectors or Audio-Technica Neutrik cables currently.

Wire is wire, but cheap connectors should be avoided.
