Whats better than 2 Tuba 60's???

#1 Post by samaharris »

That's right...

4 Tuba 60's!!!

I've had heaps of fun with my 2 Tubas already. I've even redefined the word 'overkill' when I brought both my Tubas to an INDOOR house party. But just like everyone else here, I got that itch to build.

Construction begun today with the first 2 panels installed on the first Tuba. Widths will be the same as the first 2 at ~18 inches.

Hopefully I'll remember to take and post photos.

Till then, happy building :D
Built:
4 x single loaded Tuba 60 19" LAB12
4 x WH8 Delta, melded 8 tweeter
4 x SLA PRO 4 x 6"

Tuba 60's are KING :)

I brought my dual out for a New Years Eve Party. In a public park at the beach, overlooking the lagoon to take in the view of the fireworks at night. Hired out a Honda 6.5 Inverter Generator. Best New Years Ever.

Bloody big and awkward cabinets but just too good to be without. Best of luck with your build

Unfortunately I don't have photos of the house party  but the bass was nothing short from brutal!!!

I took me about 3 weeks from start to finish (not including weekends) but I made it :hyper:

I even remembered to take a couple of photos along the way.

I was lucky enough to work in a bigger shed than last time, so I finished them both at the same time.

They are the best!! Everyone that I've shown wants to hear them again and again

I'm always lucky that I have help moving my Tubas

I managed to use my 2 singles at an outdoor gig last year, with great success.

Not a problem, This was for a holiday carnival for the Belmont youth centre.

When I First fired it up during setup at this gig, the Driverack was running just the Yammy tops as full range, from the last time I used it. Needless to say, no one was impressed with the bass. I thought the Tubas had died on me! A quick re-calibration and the bass cannons were firing. Close to war volume and some of the gear started moving across the table!

Can't wait to see what all 4 T60's will do.

Whereabouts in Perth are you commander_dan? I'd love to hear someone else's BFM gear. Let me know when you're running it next

I'm NOR in Warwick. I'd likewise be interested to hear the T60's sometime when you fire all 4 up, be sure to let me know :)

We are potentially doing a warehouse party on the 12th of Feb in Osbourne Park, if it goes ahead we're planning on using all 6 T30's, no noise restrictions :cowboy: I'll keep you posted.

Loving your T60's btw, great work.

And here they all are (finally)

They've been finished for a while, but getting them all together for a family photo has been a challenge

Spot the odd one out. The 2 on the right in this last photo are the new ones)

Unfortunately, the backyard is not the place for a proper testing :( will definitely get some reviews up when I do
