I have been reading this forum for weeks, study pictures and reviews and lots of other research. I have decided I will build some speakers, so first thing is to register here and start asking questions from all the experts!
I moved hear from Australia and joined the church here in Michigan, and now am getting involved in the sound. I have been trained in using the sound systems years ago so the church is going to take my knowledge to improve.
So far I can see the need for lots of improvements so will take it slowly.... I got Spring and Summer yard work to do first but planning is always best for a successful project!

Anyway, I see lots of smart people here, friendly and offering lots of advice and I appreciate the advice I have already read that you have given others, and I appreciate any future advice you will give me. I am thankful that people like Bill provide services like this.... Looking forward to listening to the final products when I eventually get them finished and hung!

Welcome aboard! Some of the stuff you will hear on here will go against 'industry norms'... mainly because the industry is full of a lot of cowboys and BS-ers. I have (re-)learned many things on my BFM journey and I thanks to that, I now have a soundsystem (and working knowledge of how to operate it) that is the envy of many others. If you fancy a piece of that, just stick around here for a bit and suck up the lovely knowledge

If you could post a photo or two of the sanctuary, the forum will have a better idea. How big is the budget?

Typically, TLAHPro main cabs and T39 or T48 subs would be the suggestions. Also needed would be a DSP unit such as a DriveRack or a DCX2496 for limiting(critical) and processing.

Moved to the US for work! I work in Automotive and the Australian government is shutting down all manufacturing. So it was either move industries and start over, or transfer here! I took the transfer. Its too cold, I mean the two worst winters on record for years.......

Australia is a beautiful country, but from what I have seen of the USA its also very beautiful, we went down to Nashville over the weekend and the countryside, caves, rivers are all nice.

You moved from the most dangerous and hot place on earth to one of the miserably coldest? Are you a masochist? I assume you moved to the Detroit area? I sure hope the auto industry is gonna pick back up there. Surprised they haven't all packed their bags and left (or folded-up). If Holden is gone, how is GM gonna re-badge their cars for the US?
