New Site

#1 Post by Chris_Allen »

Hello All,

Following the stable build of the latest PHPBB, I've rebuilt the site to keep us up to date and secure.

The new site has a different anti spam/anti hack model, so I just want to make sure that people round the globe can still access the site before I do a migration.

There's no need to test the capability, just make sure that it appears.

http://66.228.50.27/forum/

Thanks for the support.

Chris.

The site is there but it's blinding with that new bright white background!

Love the icons on each section though.

Don't mean to be a griper, but I hate the alternating blue and white postings once you get into a thread. I've seen this on other forums and I find it annoying and distracting.

I've always thought this was the absolute best looking forum I've ever seen - easy to get around and not distracting.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Ok, my two cents are in......I'm out'a cents now.....or is it sense?

I also concur with the don't fix attitude, unfortunately, the current theme isn't available for the new forum version.

When (if?) it comes out, I'll install it and allow users to choose the one they want.

OK, I've dulled the background colour slightly and removed the alternating colours on the thread view.

Wow.....can I have a pizza and beer too? That's good service. :D

Looks like the colors are still alternating on the actual posts inside the thread.

They aren't in the ones I'm looking at. There is a mild border colour change but the messages themselves are the same colour. Quotes for replies are in a different colour too, a bold white - I may tone that down too.

Beer is in the post and the pizza is in the oven.
