I don't know 'bout ya'll, but cutting braces has been a slow and tedious process for me. Because of slight warpage in some areas or imprecise cuts, I've had to do a lotta sanding to get them to fit tightly. And some extra glue/screws here and there.....
My "bolt-of lightning" idea was this: Cut 2 braces at the same time. I screwed the wood together and then made my cuts. This resulted in 2 identical braces without the need to sand. I wish I thought of that sooner. Now I wonder if I can use this for other things..........
Not sure if anyone has done this or has a better solution. I just thought I'd share. (BTW I'm working on a t24. Should be done in the next couple days.)

I use the router with the flush trim bit to duplicate my braces. You just have to get one bang one and you can quickly copy the rest. I will admit that when I first realized this I had a similar epiphany!jimbo7 wrote:Cut 2 braces at the same time.

Re: Brace cutting epiphany
Be careful just how tight you make your braces.
When it comes to adding another panel is when you realise they were to tight...

You might try double sided tape instead of screws.
Carpet tape is strongest.

Re: Brace cutting epiphany
I use the original layout lines on the first panel, project everything up with a framing square, then use screws.
Pretty bitchin' to watch a warped panel get pulled straight into position by a brace.
"I love the framing square."

Braces
Can't live with them, can't live without them!
I'm with Grant and Escapemcp.
I warped the crap out of the bottom panel on one of my T39's by pushing a brace in too far
Flush Trim Bit / Pattern Making Bit ; on the router are the greatest assistance fullstop in duplicating Braces or any other components TBH. I won't build ANYTHING now without my router
