I need help with limiter settings
How do I calculate the maximum power(safe capacity) my drivers can handle- excursion limit and set limiters-the voltage (power) that gets to the speaker accordingly. I am using a behringer DCX2496 for processing-limiting. I know the displacement voltage limit is stated in the plans, how do I convert this to the dB settings of the DCX?

You don't calculate. You must use the empirical method. Play a sine wave within the passband of the speaker into the input of the DCX, whilst connected to the amp with the amp at full gain (no speakers connected). Using a voltmeter set to AC voltage, measure the output of the amp, and reduce the limiter until the voltage you read on the meter is under the value to which you wish to limit. You are then duly limited.
99% of the time, things that aren't already being done aren't being done because they don't work. The other 1% is split evenly between fools and geniuses.

Using your DMM (digital multi meter) on the outputs of the amp, on the AC 200 setting, and all your gains set so that the maximum signal to the DCX is just below clipping, or occasionaly flickering the clipping indicator, go to the limiter section of the sub output channel on the DCX and reduce the dB down until you get the required voltage (as per the plans) at your amp, as shown on the DMM.
Done.
You're amp channel attenuator should be fully up...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
