Just need a crossover

#1 Post by Razor »

I want to get a real 24dB per octave filter crossover for the PA at my church so we have more flexibility with our setup.

My question is, are these units any good: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PV23XO/

Do you think that's good enough? I'm using powered speakers with built-in DSP, so while an external processor would offer nice functionality, for the time being I'm just looking for a crossover, and the cheaper it is the more likely I am to get the expense approved.

I would make sure that the dedicated subwoofer xover is indeed a 24db slope. Sometimes those sub outs aren't on these cheaper units even though they may advertise it as a 24db xover.

I don't have to use the low sum output. Could use 1 of each high output for the tops and the two low outputs for the sub.

That'll work! Just wanted you to be aware that some of them are like that.

Yeah thanks for the heads up. And actually since we run L/C/R I may want to use the 35XO, assuming I can set the mid and high crossovers to the same frequency.

EDIT: Just checked, I can!
