Lookin to this mackie m1400i amp, and I'm gonna be running my t39 single lab 12 with it, I know they should work out just fine, but in the future I plan on building another, how should i go about doin that? i want to make sure I can run two more efficiently, because bridged 8 ohm is 850w, and 4 ohm is 1290.
From what I see, the only route is 4 ohm, but changing ohms is really nothing right? It's just resistance, has nothing to do with loudness, right? Would that mean it would not be any louder? (not including added cone area) Really confused on the subject, could someone explain how I can find voltage limits to both my sub and amp?
Gonna buy an amp none other than the mackie m1400i t39 help!

Before Fitzmaurice, big bass could only be had with just a hook and a nightcrawler.

It should give you about 44 volts running not bridged into 4 ohms and about 48 volts into 8 ohms not bridged. Seems a little bit light for subs unless you don't plan to squeeze every volts from them, which I personally would not. I don't run mine past 40 volts if I can help it.
Bridged would be about 75 volts into 4 ohms and about about 89 volts into 8 ohms...either is way too much.
Yours will be like mine. I run two T30's off one channel, not bridged...I have plenty voltage swing without it. Once I add two more T30's, they'll run together off the other channel. Two speakers should be louder than one.

What amp are you running for the subs don?
4xOT12s, 2xT39s@22", TTLS@18", 2xT60@18"

I run my subs on a lowly Behringer EPQ 1200.88h88 wrote:What amp are you running for the subs don?

I run two 3012 lf's (50 volts max) Tuba 30's on one channel of it, I get adequate voltage swing. It's never clipped, it runs cool, and I limit at about 45-47 volts so it clamps down at that point, but I don't believe it's ever engaged at a gig yet in over a year. I'm building two more Lab 12 T30's to put on the other channel. This is completely implausible according to marketing...which if you're like I was...that's where I got my "education" on this stuff. Never in a million years would I have dreamed that I'd have bass like this off an amp with these specs. I used to run a Mackie M2600, bridged into two 18" subs.

One thing I love about that amp is it has onboard adj lo cut, and I think a limiter. I was gonna get one a long time ago when I was lookin at powering another sub, someone bought it before me. Once you go fitzmaurice you will never buy or need a 1000 watt sub again!

You should get over to the BFM merchandise thread and post that!DJ Higgumz wrote:Once you go fitzmaurice you will never buy or need a 1000 watt sub again!

I have one of those but it's not working. It has an adjustable low cut filter on it and the limiter is not adjustable and not sure if its brick wall either.DJ Higgumz wrote:One thing I love about that amp is it has onboard adj lo cut, and I think a limiter. I'd consider it with care...that specs a little less than my EPQ 1200, which is the lowest I'd go to run subs. One reason my amp works from me is that I don't push it consistently very close to it's capacity.

I have a rane dc 24 or somethin like that and it is a gate, limiter, compressor, and crossover all in one so I should be fine with the limiter. I imagine once I get my sub up and running I will be more confident, so I will try harder to get gigs. So hopefully that will bring in more cash, and i can buy a larger ampdoncolga wrote:I have one of those but it's not working.
