So someone was saying that they liked the colored piezo arrays and that was making me wonder. Can you paint these arrays or did they find hot pink piezos on ebay? I really like the colored arrays too.

Thanks for the answers on the DIY glue too. I am totally going to try it.

I must say I am really impressed with this DIY glue. Very easy to apply, and the result looks as if it was joined by Ultrasonic welding:

I've arranged this test setup to see what the melded arrays actually produce:



This is the response curve:



Not so clear in the picture, but the Piezos 'wake up' just over 1 kHz. With the X-over high passing at around 1.5 - 2kHz that looks good.
The two significant peeks at 4kHz and between 6 and 8kHz will be easily trimmed with the send EQ.

Forgot to show a little tip/trick regarding attaching the melded array diffuser…

Before attaching the diffuser tube to the array, I folded around it a long piece of fine grit sandpaper,
and while pressing it lightly in its intended position, I slid it along the tube axis up and down a few times.
This achieved two things: it marked exactly where the contact points are so I knew were to put the adhesive,
and also it roughened those points a little so the adhesive would grip better.

Here after marking with the sandpaper:



I used black silicone compound for attaching the diffuser tube – a bead to each mark/point.
The diffuser tube is made of 16mm (5/8") house plumbing pipe.
Its outer and inner layers are Polyethylene and an Aluminum layer in between (locally known as SP)

I can't get black pipe here the right dia, so I have to settle with grey and spray paint it black!

I found some 5/8" clear acrylic tubing and spray painted the inside. Came out nice and shiny!

I have never bothered to paint tweest, but shouldn't the opening be plugged up since the new piezos are glued?
