Regular Club Gig
1 24" Titan 48 3015LF powered by an xti2000. Unfortunatly, you can't quite make out the t48, but it is in the corner, on my left side, corner loaded. Video may not be processed yet, I just uploaded it.

Very small, 30 ft wide and 40 ft deep. I do seem to get a lot of room nodes.

Sounds Awesome in the club.

Since you have Serato you might try autolooping 4 or 8 bars for some of those songs that don't have long intro's. Scratching also works very nicely for songs you want to slam in. Seems like your clubs have a lot of different Genres which seems cool.

I kind of envy you being able to have a smoke while DJ'ng at the booth. CA has a strict no smoking policy in all clubs and restaurants.

Aw man the smoking ban has made it suuuuch a more pleasant experience working in venues. I couldn't stand it if smoking was still allowed here.

Thanks. I do use some autolooping, but not often. Most of the time I set cue points and hot cues. Actually the "Bring that beat back man" in the first section is a loop. I do a bit of baby scratches, as evidenced in the video. I really get in to scratching in and out when I play a old school hip hop set. The smoking thing is a blessing and a curse. A blessing for those who smoke, and a curse for those who don't. They actually changed the law last year. No smoking in any restaurant, or a bar where food is served. Luckily the place I play the bar is separated from the food, so its good.

i am with you on that one dave, since 2004 in ireland it is forbidden to smoke in the workplace this includes all venues, and even cars or vans that are associated with work related duties. sometimes i swear that even though the ban is in force over 7 years , i can still get the whiff of tobacco smoke from my gear....yuk..

hmmmm.....all this talk is reminding me to head out to the deck for Dos Equis and a fine cigar....nothing better after a day of speaker building....or just about anything.

California has gotten to the point that they have tried banning smoking outdoors in certain cities, in your own personal cars in some counties, and in your own home. I am all for not infringing on non-smokers rights for clean air, but banning outdoors. This state has the weirdest and craziest laws sometimes. Here's the kicker you can buy and smoke weed at a marijuana collective, but it's a no no for the tabacco. Weed has become an infraction only making it as worthless as a speeding ticket if caught.

But back to the music and speakers. I'm glad you posted this because I'll be using these for a setup in a club of similar dimensions. I can't tell from the video but does it have the in your chest thump that people want? I was at a club last week and they had folded horn tops and subs. My thoughts of the music was that it was very very clear and the bass was not muddy. I thought that the music was loud, but not as loud as I was used to at other clubs. The moment I stepped outside of the club I realized that my ears were ringing and I had to shout to hear myself. That only happens at the loudest of clubs, so in reality the speakers were much louder than I realized, but the bass was almost lacking in authority.

With the one sub, I get a little chest thump right directly in the middle of the dance floor, but I also get terrible room nodes. Unfortunatly, I can't really move the sub around, due to a lack of space. I think if I add another sub, I could fix a lot of the room nodes. With the second video I added, when I applied some EQ, for whatever reason, it really helped with the nodes. I don't quite understand why, but it did. Hell, I was sitting at the bar during warmup, and all the glasses were vibrating around on the bar top.
