3010HO?

#1 Post by gdougherty »

Bill, do you know if Eminence has plans to do a 3010HO type driver that may be suitable in a DR250? I like the size of the DR250 over a 280, but if I'm going to spend the time eventually building a few, it seems like the 280 with the 3012HO would be the route to go for maximum output in the smaller number of cabs.

My understanding is that engineering would like to do 3010 style drivers, sales doesn't think the market is there for them. Obviously we take engineering's side. Only time will tell.

Well, at least there's a possibility; keeping fingers crossed. This would totally shift the whole thing about DR 250vs200. And of course would make the decision making for me much easier :bash:

It shouldn't, a 3010 versus 2510 might make a 3dB difference. What I'd like to see more than a 3010HO is a 3010LF for sub use.

True, true, but im not particularly fond ( :fruit: ) of building cabs, and much less the dr series, so I would try to get absolutely the most out I could from the fewest dr's.

WHA!? I hadn't thought of that :D I can imagine upgrading all my six 16" t39's :hyper:

You're right, and the build will get more expensive, and any melded array might not keep up so the build might get even more expensive.. But still.. Two cabs would have almost the same output as three with the 2510II.. The cash spent on more expensive drivers will be made up for by less drivers and a cab less. And I know people would find that attractive! :)
-2 T48 3015LF
-2 DR250 2510 crossfired

Bring it on :chainsaw:
2510 weight + HL10 output = super lightweight killer subs :hyper:

Maybe if we all send Eminence a PM once a day for the 3010's HO & LF they might listen.
