ASMR recordings

#1 Post by Charles Jenkinson »

On my journey with learning about recording techniques, this one is a new genre for me, and though binaurual recording has been covered here before, this seems to be the fullest use of such a technique it. There is apparently an acoustically pleasing phenomenon which helps a lot of people relax, go to sleep - you name it, called Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. I don't doubt it's true, and so I thought I'd share it here anyway.

Words&graphics - Audio&Acoustics - Hardware&DSP; 3 different paradigms.

Weird #$%^. I know some people that really like listening to such stuff - the whispering, the sound of chewing. I don't get any tingles so it's all lost on me.

I understand it's kinda like touching silk vs sandpaper, but people who get off at the sound of crumbling chip bags seems a little kooky.
