Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
Mmm door, glass, therefore not a solid boundary.
What's that little alcove like in pic 2, to the right of the truss on the ceiling?

Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
Really truly, you should probably try all locations and configurations that make sense. My inclination is to stack them 4 high, aimed to the left in the position I mentioned in pic 1 and mouths about a foot away from the wall. However, it's just where's I'd start.
Scratch that... It would be smart to start with a sub crawl. Put a sub in the location you would like to sound the best and take measurements around the perimeter and corners of the room. Painters tape to mark and number the location. Then place the subs in the locations that had the highest measurements and test the target area. Also, you can place a sub in areas you would like a null or cancellation (possibly a bar or area people congregate to talk) and test the perimeter. Compare the results and try the locations that produce the best balance of both attributes, loud on the dance floor yet less so at the bar/social areas.
I just noticed the DJ booth in pic 2. That's a pretty cool set up.

We now have a new spot if anyone wants to help out again!
I just typed out a whole new thread only to have a glitch throw it away...
New space is concrete underground parking garage.
8'x65.5'x55'
4 T60s.. and 2 Danley Labs SH69s!!

No Windows. 2 doors. 1 walk through and 1 large garage door.
I'll grab pictures tonight.

Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
What a rig you have! I would suggest using a software with a room simulator so you can see what happens to target frequencies with placement. I have used REW a handful of times and it was surprisingly accurate for the frequencies I was concerned about. Using the software and understanding the 1/4 wavelength effects is gratifying. I also like putting at least just one sub on a moving dolly, play a test tone of main frequency for music you are listening to and just wheel it around while measuring or listening in listening area, like a reverse sub crawl.
I liked pulling the T60’s away from the wall due to a smaller dance/listening areas. The boundary loading wasn’t needed due to having 4 units and dispersion/direct sound was controlled easier as well. Doing those things my main goal was not to have any cancellations or major nulls in the 35-60 hz range.
How do you like your SH69’s?!

Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
The SH69s are incredible. Still learning how to use SMAART though. We are also using them in smaller spaces.. but we have moved to another new spot and finally found a bit of luck. The whole thing is finally singing.
I want to improve it further.
Do we have pre-alignment delay values for the T60? Is the horn path, as measured in Sketchup, equal to the delay value of a standard 0ms direct radiating driver was next to a Tuba "grill to grill"?
I'm learning how to read the phase graph via Nathan Lively's channel/website. But im hoping to get into the ballpark by using simple distance measurements next time I'm at the space, then following one of his guides to take a peek and see what I can learn.

Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
If you’ve got the tools, run an impedance sweep of the subs in-place. The first peak on the way down will be Fc. Use the wavelength at Fc plus any physical distance between the sub’s mouths and tops as a starting point to set the delays in the tops.
Good food, good people, good times.

Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
The T60 path is 13 feet. Add to that the distance between the subs and mains to determine how much delay to apply to the mains if you're main concern is sub/main integration. If it's live sound the mains have to be delayed to the placement of the backline amps.
Re: Trying to dust the cobwebs off.
Thanks guys. Subs/Mains integration for sure. Thank you!
