"With 102dB/watt sensitivity, and the long-throw clarity than only a line array can give..."

What typo?

Shouldn't it read

With 102dB/watt sensitivity, and the long-throw clarity that only a line array can give

?

Wow.....you're right. I had to read it a couple of times before it clicked. Amazing how our brain fills in the word it wants to see.

It only took someone ten years to notice it.

Yeah, totally not a big thing.

Wasn't going to mention it, but I thought I remembered a conversation earlier in the year and you (Bill) saying to please bring any typos to your attention.

I certainly don't want to be, or come off as, an internet spelling/grammer/syntax police A-hole.

I mention it purely out of contribution to the space and community.

I appreciate the heads up, it's just that the grammar and spelling police tend to do their thing in a much more timely manner.

Recommended Tops: Omni Top 12, OmniTop 15, DR250, DR280, DR280, DR300
No DR200, but DR280 listed twice

:bash: If we’re being picky, isn’t the language “102db / watt” technically incorrect also? That reads as 102db per watt... if so, do you get 204db with 2 watts? :loler:

Titan 48 & Titan 39 plans
A dual 8 ohm driver cab parallel wired may be considered a 5 ohm load, a dual 8 ohm
driver cab series wired a 20 ohm load. A dual 4 ohm driver cab parallel wired is 3
ohm load, series wired a 10 ohm load. With the 6 ohm Lab 15 driver one driver is an 8
ohm load, two in parallel a 4 ohm load, two in series a 16 ohm load.
Pretty sure it's meant to say dual 4 ohm series is a 12 ohm load.

The T24 plans have a similar wording, which I believe should be 12 too.
The BP102 and 3010LF are available in 4 ohms, so a pair series wired in a 2x cab will give a 10 ohm
load.
and the T18
A pair of 4 ohm drivers parallel wired gives 4 ohms nominal impedance.
A pair of 4 ohm drivers series wired will give 10 ohms impedance.
Shouldn't it be 3 parallel & 12 series ?

mmm.
I thought the saying was "the horn loaded cab adds 2 ohms in acoustic impedance".
So 4 + 4 + 2 = 10 for series wired 4 ohm drivers, 4 ohms for parallel 4's.
Parallel 8's would be 6 ohms, Series 8's 18 ohms.
6 0hms drivers in series would be 14 ohms, parallel 5 ohms.

Unless each driver adds 2 0hms acoustic impedance...

I think you're right about that Grant. Then it's just the Titans plans that are slightly off.

Ultimately, it's a bit of a scholarly, but pretty much unimportant issue. As impedance is nominal and isn't static over the frequency range of the driver in how we use them in subs - it just seems to add a little confusion to some. Whether the cab adds 2 ohms to a 6 ohm or 8 ohm driver doesn't really change how we choose appropriate amps.

The most important point in the plans - typos or otherwise - is to limit said drivers to the voltage listed.

So, I would suggest the Bill just remove the entire issue of the added impedance from the plans as it only serves to confuse some folks......however, the forum is a bit light on discussion, so maybe it's a good thing...

In reading through all the plans, I'm surprised they're as accurate and well written as they are. There are a couple things I think could be phrased or punctuated differently to more effectively convey a point. But that get's into personal differences and opinions. I'm aware that, to the ego (mine anyway), it's bad enough having a typo or numerical discrepancy pointed out. The fact that Bill has asked for these to be brought to his attention is commendable. Although, I'd much rather just PM them to him. If that's an option Bill, PM me.

Personally, I like that the Impedance rundown is in the plans.
