Portable/pop up canopy search!!

#1 Post by ACUA »

I am going to be in the market for a nice quality pop up canopy in the near future for my DJ operation. I have had a few of the cheap ones for camping and things in the past. Those things could not handle any wind and after a year they start to fall apart pretty fast. I have seen quality ones at concerts and various festivals here and there, I know they exist.

Where is the best place to buy a good one and how much should one have to pay to get one?
Any input or feedback would be valued on this topic. What canopies do you guys use? Thank you in advance.

I like the 10x15’ size. Here is a few I have searched out. But I hate picking based on the sales pitch that each has on their website, they all say that they are the best I the world!!!

Eurmax’s premium canopy is $750

Ins’Tent quoted me their v3 unit at $1350

And EZUP wants $1100 for their unit as well.

TentCraft requires a quote for pricing

Abccanopy’s best I can see costs $350ish and I have no idea how good it is.

Canopies and Tarps want $650 for their best

I vote Eurmax!

Tent Craft, Eurmax and EZUP all have the octagon frames whie the rest are hex or square. I like the sizzor hinges and hardware better on the Eurmax over the EZUP.

Money no object?
That Tent Craft actually looks Really Cool!! I haven't witnessed one in person, Although, I'd imagine they are a fair bit more costly that the others.

Ezup survived about 10 yrs in my rental store. That's letting amateurs put it up and take it down all the time. I think we replaced the canopy once.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

2 years ago in September i bought 6 tents on clearance from a Sears store. My original intent was to sell 4 of them which would leave me with 2 free of charge.I only ended up selling 3 and right now i dont have 1 thats fully functional, all three broke in the same area, the cheap thin metal broke in the "scissor" area.I am gonna buy a 20x20 professional tent (although i prefer a 15x15 but they cost more than the 20x20).I have a buddy that rents tents, tables and chairs and i am gonna splurge for a good one,a 20x20 aluminum frame tent with vinyl top and sidewalls. That way i can set it up over my 8x12 stage if im using it and in the event of rain i can bring my speakers and inverter generators inside and fulfill my contractual obligation without jeopardizing my equipment.I'm expecting to spend about $1500 if i buy it new but its WELL worth it,a true buy once cry once situation
